It’s Not Too Late to Schedule a Free COVID Vaccination in Bridgeport

by | Jul 11, 2022 | Health

As of March 2022, about 67% of U.S. residents had been vaccinated against the virus that causes COVID-19. That’s according to data from the Centers for Disease Control. Only 47% had received a booster shot, though. Compliance with the recommendation for a second booster is even lower. Anyone who decides it’s time to get a booster shot may schedule a free COVID vaccination in Bridgeport.

Relevant Statistics

Many people who were eager to complete the initial round of vaccinations have been hesitant to get additional shots. More than 90% of senior citizens in this country have received one dose of the Johnson & Johnson or two doses of the Moderna or Pfizer product. However, only 69% of them have obtained the first booster. The number remains relatively low even though they can receive a free COVID vaccination in Bridgeport.

Reasons for Hesitancy

Some individuals have started feeling skeptical about whether so many vaccinations against one virus really are necessary within a short time frame. Another issue is people feeling confused about different variants, some of which are reported to be milder than others.

Total Noncompliance

The lack of booster compliance also includes the approximately 33% of U.S. residents who never pursued receiving the first vaccination. Those who never caught the virus, didn’t experience symptoms or only had a mild case are not inclined to be inoculated at this point.

It’s not too late to get started, though. Free shots are available at Prism Vaccinations and Health Lab Schaumburg, which provides information at Business url.
